What do I need to view real-time video from my cell phone?
In order to watch real-time surveillance video from any web camera on your cell phone, you will need to confirm the following: Check to see if your cell phone is supported for RemoteCam service. To easily check if it is supported, open the WAP page on your cell phone and see if “RemoteCam” is there on the service list or you can search by keyword “remotecam”.
How do I set up RemoteCam?
To set up RemoteCam you need to download and install RemoteCam PC Software on your PC, set up your web cam(s) you will be using and download and install RemoteCam on your mobile. Before setting up RemoteCam you will have to register a RemoteCam ID on your mobile device via RemoteCam. Once you have registered you can set up RemoteCam PC Software and later sign in with RemoteCam via your mobile device. Please see user guides for more detail. How many webcams can I use?
Two webcams can be set up per PC. Mulitple PCs can be used.
What is Shared Cam?
A Shared Cam is a cam that can be viewed by designated users or allows you to view another user's cam via the RemoteCam PC Software.
How many users can share a camera at a time?
Five users at a time can share a camera.
Is there an extra fee if I want to share my video?
No, there is not an extra fee to share the view.
How many record files can I schedule?
Up to seven recorded files can be scheduled at a time. But in terms of video files made based on motion detection these would be as many as you would like.
Does RemoteCam support sound?
At the moment RemoteCam only supports video.
If I register RemoteCam on my current mobile platform, will I still be able to use RemoteCam if in the future I switch to a new mobile platform?
If RemoteCam supports your new mobile platform, you will be allowed to switch by using your currently registered RemoteCam ID.
I want to buy RemoteCam service but it does not give me the option.
For in app purchase on AppWorld version 2.1 is needed. Please update AppWorld to the latest version.
RemoteCam PC Software Question
What are the System Requirements for RemoteCam PC Software?
Recommended: Pentium or higher, 512M or more memory, OS : Windows 2000, ME, XP, Vista, 7, Internet: above DSL (broadband Internet) Web Cameras: USB 1.0/2.0, use common web Camera (However, digital cameras, camcorders, CCTV cameras are not supported.)
How do I change the camera screen size?
Screen size can be changed in Config option. Currently we suppor two screen sizes, 176x144 and 320x240.
Where are the recorded video saved files kept?
Recorded video saved files are stored on your PC running RemoteCam PC Software in location C:\Program Files\RemoteCam\recording. Each video saved file is kept in specific folders, one for each webcam.
How does motion detetion work?
Motion detection in RemoteCam is used as a means to receiving SMS messages or record video saved files for later viewing. Once RemoteCam detects motion it will alert you via SMS or start recording video save files based upon the settings you have set up via the RemoteCam PC software.
Why am I not getting my SMS during Motion Detection?
To get SMS messages you will have to set up SMS messaging under the motion detection section of the RemoteCam PC Software config option. Also note that currently SMS feature for Motion Detection is only supported for Verizon Wireless.
Is it possible to record shared cams?
No. Shared cams are for viewing only.
Technical Question
When registering for a new RemoteCAM ID I receive a message “Connection Failed. Please Check your connection settings and try again.”
Sometimes direct Internet connection for third-party applications have to be set up manually. GridFieldManager problem in Blackberry Bold 9700.
This is a problem with some OS versions which we are hoping RIM takes care of soon. Best solution is to change RIM OS versions on your Blackberry device.
Which video formats are supported in RemoteCam
Currently only mp4 media format is supported in RemoteCam.
Is it possible to delete recorded video files?
Yes, it is possible to delete recorded video files but currently it can only be done via the RemoteCam PC Software.
Can I register multiple RemoteCam IDs.
No, once you have successfully registered RemoteCam you will not be allowed to make any additional RemoteCam IDs.

Is RemoteCam Free?
RemoteCam comes with a special promotion 5 day free trial period for Blackberry and Android users.
How much does RemoteCam cost?
RemoteCam service for Blackberry devices has special promotion price of $0.99 per month and an Android special promotion price of $2.49. Also note there is a special promotion price of $1.99 per three month plan available for AppWorld users and a special promotion price of $6.99 per three month plan available for Android Market users. For RemoteCam Wap service the cost is $2.99 per month.
How can I cancel subscription to RemoteCam service?
To cancel RemoteCam subcription please contact Blackberry AppWorld, Verizon Vcast, Android Market, or whoever your digitial distribution platform was when downloading RemoteCam.
I lost my password. How can I retrieve it?
You can email us your email address if you provided it when registrating your RemoteCam ID with us or you can let us know which device platform you are using with RemoteCam, your RemoteCam ID, and the date in which you registered with us. How much does it cost to upgrade or re-install RemoteCam?
Upgrades and re-installs are free.
